Saint-Gervais d’Auvergne Agricultural High School is not just an educational institution. It offers a myriad of services and facilities to its students, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience.

Boarding School

Morning: Wake Up → 6:45-7:00 a.m.
Closing → 7:45 a.m.
Evening: Opening/Closing → 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
Bedroom study → 7:30 p.m.-8:45 p.m.
Lights off at 10 p.m.
Wednesday: Opening/Closing→ 1:00 p.m.-1:15 p.m.

Self

Hours:
Morning: 7:00-7:45 a.m.
Noon: 12:05-1:25 p.m.
Evening: 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Students have the possibility to eat indoors or outside in the garden. The meals are adapted, meaning that vegans have special meals. The self-service offers a “bar” for starters. It organizes themed meals, such as those based on different countries and cultures, as well as for holidays like Christmas or Halloween. Occasionally, the school organizes solidarity meals to support “les restos du coeur”, a French charity organization.

Facilities at the School

Dog Maternity Clinic

A puppy maternity ward is a temporary space designed to ensure the safety, comfort and health of mothers and their puppies during this crucial moment. It is important to prepare in advance and recognize the signs of labor to ensure a safe whelping. If any questions or concerns arise, it is always recommended to call a veterinarian for professional advice.

The female dog enters the maternity clinic one week before giving birth, i.e. on the 53rd day of gestation, and then she leaves 3 weeks after whelping.

Kennel Nursery

The kennel nursery houses puppies older than three weeks until they are sold, typically at two months of age. The separation between mothers and puppies starts gradually from 4 or 5 weeks. The institution houses a total of thirty-four male and female dogs of all breeds, not counting the puppies.

Grooming Salon and Sports Facilities

The school boasts a grooming salon where grooming students can practice on dogs from the educational kennel. The institution also has several sports facilities, including a stadium, training equipment, and a beach-volleyball court.

Fitness Trail: The school has several sports facilities, including a city stadium, training equipment, and beach-volley. These sports spaces are utilized during free time and certain sports classes. This space allows all classes to come together and share good moments.

Lounge and Multipurpose Room: We have two fun rooms: the lounge and the multipurpose room. All students can go there during their free time. In the lounge, we have a bar where we can buy sodas and snacks every evening, and we can have pancakes on Wednesdays. The money collected from the bar is collected by the high school students’ organization and is used for school trips during the year. Meetings, conferences, and final tests take place in the multipurpose room. This is where we take exams. Students can organize dancing parties and movie nights there too.

La Villatelle dog breeding estate

At La Villatelle dog breeding estate, we have eight different breeds of dogs: Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Beagles, Breton Spaniels, Wire-haired Dachshunds, Braque du Bourbonnais, Korthal Griffons, and Miniature Schnauzers. The different dogs are kept in two different wings. The right wing with nine boxes and the left wing with ten boxes. The boxes’ dimensions are five square meters, and all have a courtyard of five square meters as well. There are two dogs per box. Each courtyard has access to a park of approximately 80 square meters which communicates with three different boxes. La Villatelle dog breeding estate includes thirty-four male and female dogs of all breeds combined, not counting the babies.
